How Hannah’s resume is built
Layout and order
Hannah Kim is a fictional fintech product manager in Toronto, written in the US and Canada format: US Letter, month-and-year dates and no personal details. Modern hangs each section title in the left margin, which gives a two-job history a clean shape without extra rules. Six years and two roles fit on one page with a short summary at the top.
How the bullets are built
Product bullets should lead with the thing shipped and end with what moved. "Launched round-up savings; 210,000 customers opted in within six months and deposits grew $34M" gives adoption and money with a time frame. "Cut onboarding steps from 11 to 6, lifting completion from 58% to 74%" shows the change and the result together. One bullet covers how Hannah works: a weekly interview cadence and a shared insights board for 3 squads. The earlier role shows ownership of a roadmap with a before-and-after (4,000 to 11,500 paying accounts) and the size of the team she planned with.
Words to use
This page is about layout and bullets. For the skills, tools and verbs that recur in job posts, see the product manager resume keywords.
Product manager resume questions
Should a product manager list tools like Jira and Figma?
Briefly, in a skills line. Hiring managers care more about decisions and results, so keep tools out of the bullets unless the tool was the point.
How do I credit a launch the whole team worked on?
Say what you owned. Launched, owned the roadmap or ran discovery are fair when they are true; the reader knows engineers built it.
Is Modern a safe choice for product roles?
Modern is one column and reads top to bottom in the PDF's text. If you prefer a plainer look, switch to Ledger in the editor and nothing needs retyping.
