Why skills two to a row
Technical resumes carry long tool lists. Two groups to a row (Languages and Tools, Cloud and Data) halves the height of the Skills section without a sidebar, and the groups still read in order.
How to fill it
Name the stack in each bullet, not only in Skills: what you built, with what, and the result in time, cost or accuracy. Link your GitHub or portfolio. Keep certifications such as AWS or CKA with dates.
When to pick another
For a student software resume, Plain or Kernel are the patterns reviewers expect. For a data scientist with papers, Scholar lists publications.
Words to use
The layout is half of it. For the terms recruiters search for, see the keyword lists for data analyst, devops engineer and software engineer resumes.
About Signal
How many skills should I list?
Enough to match the job post honestly, grouped. Ten to twenty specific tools is common for data and IT roles.
Do dash bullets parse?
Yes. They are plain text characters, and our tests read every bullet back in order.
Should I add projects?
If they show skills your jobs don't, yes, with a link and a result.
